The AA Ohio Valley Football League was the 2003 home to the Genesee County Patriots. However, in 2004 the Patriots made a couple big moves. The Patriots moved up to the AAA North American Football League (NAFL) which is the nation's largest football league and has over 100 football teams that not only span all across the nation but are in other countries as well.
During the 2003-2004 off season, Pride Stadium, home of the Clio Mustangs, became the new Patriot home field. After playing their home games at Pride Stadium in 2004, a number of construction issues at Clio High School resulted in the use of Guy Houston Stadium in Flint for two home games during the 2005 season. With construction issues as well as decreased community support related to those issues, the Patriots returned to Atwood Stadium in 2006.
After completing the 2005 season, the Patriots opened up their official team head quarters located at 126 Vienna road in downtown Clio, Michigan. The program also announced its first television deal, having three 2006 season home games to be broadcast on Comcast Cable.
The team will enter its sixth season of competition in 2008, offering the Genesee County and surrounding areas exciting Minor League sports entertainment at an affordable price. With increased community involvement, the opportunity to build on the Patriots' first playoff qualifying season, and continued support from our business and community partners, the Patriots look to build on our goals of being a success on and off the field.

In their first season (2003), the Patriots played their home games at 11,000 seat, city owned, Atwood Stadium in Flint, Michigan. After a two year stint at Pride Stadium in Clio that included two games at Guy Houston Stadium, the team returned to Atwood Stadium in 2006.
